The head of the journalistic training program at Germany’s international broadcaster, Deutsche Welle has forwarded the following advertisement.
We are looking for young people from all over the world interested in a comprehensive, exceptional quality journalism program with an international broadcaster. Candidates should have journalism experience or be passionate about technology/IT, economics or the sciences. We are looking for open-minded people full of creative ideas. The DW editorial traineeship is paid, with a gross starting salary of approx. 1,600 Euros per month. As full-time employees, DW trainees are automatically eligible for German public health insurance. As our trainees move to Germany from abroad, we assist them at every step of the visa process. The traineeship leads to employment in one of our departments in Bonn or Berlin.
Applications are open between December 1, 2017 and January 29, 2018. Applications can only be submitted via the online system.

Humboldt Fellowships:

New call for applications for International Climate Protection Fellowships

Prospective leaders from transition and developing countries can now apply to the International Climate Protection Fellowship programme. Applications may be submitted until 1 March 2018.Up to 20 young climate experts from non-European transition or developing countries who already have initial professional and leadership experience in this field will be funded in the next round. Applicants focus on issues relating to the scientific, engineering, legal, economic, health-related or social aspects of climate change. Together with a host, they will work in Germany for a year on a research-based project of their own choice in the field of climate protection.
